Music Lessons
| - originally from Washington, D.C., has over ten years experience as a performer and string teacher. In Washington he studied violin with such distinguished violinists as Joel Berman and Amy Beth Horman, and with Joseph Gatwood at Catholic University of America. Separately, he has established an international career as a jazz bass player, performing regularly as a sideman with such illuminaries as Jeremy Pelt and Ben van Gelder, as well as leading several modern music projects of his own, for which he composes, arranges, and performs variously on bass, violin, guitar, and piano. |  | - Clarinet Sasha studied Clarinet Performance at the St. Neaga College of Music in his native Moldova, and later earned his Master’s from Southeastern Louisiana University. He is currently pursuing post-graduate studies at the Mannes College of Music here in Manhattan. He won first prize in the National Clarinet Competition held in Kishnev, Moldova in 1995 and First Prize in the Eastern European Chamber Music Competition in Vilcea, Romania in 1993. He has performed as a soloist at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, and with the Moldova National Philharmonic. |  | - Trumpet Eric holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the Eastman School of Music in Jazz Trumpet and Contemporary Media. He has toured extensively with such diverse artists as Teo Macero, Sinead O’Connor, Burning Spear, Madeski, Martin and Wood and The Monkees and recorded with Massive Attack, Teo Macero, Antibalas, T.V. on the Radio and Zack de la Rocha of Rage Against the Machine. |  | - Flute Jill Austen holds degrees in flute performance from the Philadelphia Musical Academy (now the University of the Arts) and the University of Minnesota. She has performed and taught throughout the US, Europe and the Caribbean, and is currently based in New York. Ms. Austen has served on the faculties of the College of the Bahamas in Nassau, Bahamas; the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, TX; the University of Minnesota's MacPhail School of Music; and the Jamaica School of Music in Kingston, Jamaica. An avid chamber musician, Ms. Austen has recorded two CDs of music for flute and harp with harpist Kitty Eliason. In June 2002 she was a featured performer for the American Harp Society's national conference in a world premiere of a composition for flute and harp by Irish composer Declan Townsend. Anually since 2002, Ms. Austen has served as instrumental music adjudicator for the Bahamas' National Arts Festival. She is an international board member and visiting instructor for The Brass Institute in Trinidad and Tobago and the Bahamas School of Ceramics in Nassau.Summer School and the Ellis Memorial and Eldredge House Youth Center. |  | - Saxophone After playing and touring extensively in his native Israel, Guy attended the Amsterdam Conservatory in the Netherlands, from which he received a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Performance. He has performed both as a sideman and as a bandleader throughout Europe and the New York metropolitan area. |
